Bourbon
Bullets Bourbon is a supremely skilled private detective who has dedicated his life to fighting crime and protecting Stark City from the vilest villains imaginable. He has a silver plated Colt 45,that he uses with uncanny accuracy,such that he can disarm enemies without seriously injuring them. He's an extremely good hand-to-hand combatant and generally does well in any situation,regardless how dangerous. He is also a very skilled master of disguise.
JOHNNIE'S NOTES
I created Bullets taking inspiration from the great action heroes I watched as a kid in tv shows of the 70's/80's and married it with my love of comics. Basically,I set out to make the comic book version of a tv series I would've loved to watch as a kid!
Bullets has the brilliant detective mind of Sherlock Holmes,the rough and tumble action heroics of Indiana Jones and the insecurities of Charlie Brown, making him a very unique character!
Sgt.Joe Thursday
Joe is a 3rd generation cop and best friend of Bullets Bourbon. He tends to be a "By the book" guy and frequently expresses concern over the dangerous and sometimes reckless actions Bullets tends to take.
JOHNNIE'S NOTES
I tend to use Joe as Bullets "Voice of Reason". He's the one who often reminds Bullets of the reality of the danger he puts himself in. Joe kind of reminds me of Ranger Smith. Easily exasperated, but still good natured.
Officer Pat "Chubby" O'Rilley
Pat or "Chubby" as he is more usually called, is Joe's partner and best friend of Bullets. He, Joe and Bullets have been friends since childhood. Chubby is very easy going and likeable.
JOHNNIE'S NOTES
Together, Joe and Chubby are my version of a classic comedy team for the book.The character of Chubby pretty much reminds me of Fozzie Bear.
Doctor Frank Stuart
Doctor Stuart is the young and brilliant head of Stark City Crime Labs. He's a skilled chemist, whose knowledge and inventions have saved the day for Bullets several times. He's pretty quiet and mild mannered, often preferring has lab to field work.
JOHNNIE'S NOTES
Dr Stuart is sort of just outside the "inner circle" but he's been a trustworthy friend of Bullets for some time.
Officers Harris and Ford
Officers Harris (Left) and Ford (Right) are two of Stark City's finest who are often called upon to help Bullets in his battle against the forces of evil. Harris tends to be the more reserved of the two, while Ford has a more jovial nature.
JOHNNIE'S NOTES
Harris and Ford are what I jokingly refer to as my "Wedge Antillies" of the Bullets Bourbon universe.They tend to show up and play their part,but often don't get much time in the spotlight.They can be most often found carting away the villains Bullets defeats.
Colonel Crenna
Colonel Crenna is the Director of a super secret organization located deep within Stark City. He is a grand patriot and will pay any price to protect the U.S.A at any cost!
JOHNNIE'S NOTES
Colonel Crenna was (as you might expect) lovingly inspired by Richard Crenna's performance as Colonel Trautman in the Rambo movies. He's sort of a no nonsense leader, yet he comes to have great respect for Bullets Bourbon's unorthodox methods!
